When selling, what is the best way to layout the numbers and demonstrate the value to the prospect?

I am selling a email marketing solution to a corporate that owns several local media in a specific region. It will allow them to provide email marketing to their local advertisers while we run the technology side. I have given him an over view of our product, and asked several questions, and have learned a great deal about their needs and concerns.
He wants me to put together a business plan for our proposal. He mentioned specific metrics like time to break even, how they can reach 100% markup.
What are the best practices for this type of business plan/business case/proposal type of communication with a sales prospect? Can anyone point me to any good resources on the Web?
Thanks all,
