What is your REACTION why the Obama campaign have chosen to let people know his VP by text message or e-mail?
They again made a GOOD MOVE and a CLEVER STRATEGY.
But the American people CANNOT BE LONGER FOOLED BY THIS CAMPAIGN by means of their Chicago-style strategies.
This is my REACTION why the Obama campaign want to let YOU know Obama’s VP choice by means of text meesages or email?
THIS IS MY OWN ANSWER:
Its because the Obama campaign wants every people to sign-up on their website so they can send you email everyday about the campaign, their activiites, and the MOST IMPORTANT- so that they can send you an email begging for CAMPAIGN MONEY, asking you to donate to their campaign minimum of $15.00.
See how their strategy will WORK for them….
Just sign-up and YOU will know Obama’s VP……..
But if youre SMART, you know what they want!

You sure read a lot into that. Who cares? It’s not likely all that conspiratorial.
It’s a stunt. I’ll wait for the news brief, thanks.
Doesn’t really matter anyways, ice cream sandwich chance in hell of getting elected even with Jesus as his running mate!
Yeah, this is a campaign trick, and it does not surprise me either.
I signed up and didn’t have to donate. All candidates get campaign contributions anyway they can believe it or not.
uhh just wait till the annouce it publicly. It wont be long,
its the 21st centuary,its a modern way.
and if you dont wanna get their emails..its called the junk box.
I knew that there was an ulterior motive, but didn’t look into it myself. I don’t have any interest in visiting his site, and think it is so silly to sign up to get a text message about something that is public information. Its all about the $$$ no matter what side of the fence the politician is on.
It also tells me the rest of the country who does not “join” or is not a supporter – is irrelevant and unimportant. Also, it is my understanding when you sign up under his website they are tracking you. So – I won’t be signing up – I could care less who is his vp pick.
Wow…you figure that out all by yourself. That they want your phone number and email to send other campaign information. So inventive, I’m sure they are the first campaign ever to try something so amazingly creative.
Go work on a campaign for a week and figure out how this is what everyone does on both sides.
Geez.
Who cares, don’t sign up!
I think that people who agree o be notified by text or email really need to get a life.
There is real change and then there is this nonsense.
Within 5 minutes of Obama announcing his VP nomineee it will be on every TV, radio and interset site.
So how really important is it?
not very
I wish I had some enemies. I would give Obama their telephone numbers, and then they would receive junk phone calls from Democrats for the rest of time.
hillary lost…
I’ve been signed up to their text-message service since it’s inception. I receive MAYBE one test every three weeks, rarely asking for money. Just accept the fact that Obama is running the most technologically advanced campaign ever, regardless of who you support.
People that don’t like each candidate try to make something negative about the most trivial of things. It’s ridiculous.
It is certainly a gimmick to see who is interested enough to want to know early who the running mate will be. But, remember, the choice of the vice presidential candidate is the only real question to answer in this interim in between the end of the primaries and the start of the convention. So they are milking it for what it’s worth.
Will these people also get a solicitation for a donation? YES. But remember most of these people (like ME) have already given, probably more than once, like ME. So they don’t mind. In fact, being one of the first to know makes you feel more like an insider: an owner of the campaign.
I didn’t know they are letting kids vote now, huh, wow…..
I think it is an attempt to be able to spam people and beg for money.
I didn’t know anything about this, but I won’t sign up. As others have said, I will find out when it is in the news.
You are right it is so that they can fill your mail box with a bunch of worthless Obama Political B.S
I feel your right. He feels it will extend his base. What we should do is put his phone number on a bathroom wall. Then let all the ******** call him. I wonder what he will ask them for lol
It’s a political ploy. Too bad I don’t give a damn who his VP is.
They are just trying to grow there phone bank list…It’s that simple Plus they will boast we’ve signed up XX amount of new people on the website. Some naive idiots will do it like it really make a difference. Every major media outlet will be registered too so I’ll know pretty much as fast as anyone else.
Oh yes, that’s it. To beg for campaign money. He couldn’t just do that in email or by way of a phone bank. And even if that was true, his supporters wouldn’t mind doing it if it is something they believe in.
These conspiracy theories must cease.
I see this as very slick and high-tech which appeals to young people who love to send and receive text messages on their cells. My gut reaction to it is “so what?” I don’t care who Obama selects as his vp because I am not voting for him no matter who he choses.
Dirty little secret:
A list of cellphone numbers has a monetary value.
It is considered a financial ASSET.
The Obama campaign can SELL that list to the DNC or to other campaigns now or in the future for MONEY.
You have now signed up for SPAM text messages.
People who sign up for something like this are more likely to give to certain charities and causes.
Like environmental, labor, left-wing, progressive, pro-choice, anti-war, etc.
When President McCain appoints a Supreme Court nominee, you will get texts solicitations for cash to defeat him.
For the 2010 Congressional mid-term elections, you’ll get texts based on the area code of your cellphone.
If President Obama needs your support, you’ll get spam texts.
Thanks, Obama. I don’t get nearly enough SPAM.
It was nice of you to sell my phone number.
Do you really think we are to believe this bunch of crap. When he decides who vice president will be he’ll let you know. Just watch the dems convention. Now it is well known McBush can’t use any of this new fandangled stuff they have nowa days so he’s just going to use smoke signals, or two tin cans and a string. No long distance.
Sleazy and cheezie. Tacky, too. What a stupid gimmick. Figures though. The guy doesn’t have a clue, folks.
I’d be thinking at least he knows he is in the 21st century, unlike McCain who refuses to use email.
