  1. How good was your GPA? If it’s 3.0 and above, put that on there.

You need to take off your course work, esp the English part. If it’s basic course work stuff, most of it is expected by the recruiter. I would leave some of the computer since course on… and instead of saying “Computer Science courses completed:”, I would say “Relevant Coursework” and then another section for “Skills” like C++, Java, Visual Basic. You need to explain more of your experience and what you did. Like your Monitor experience. What did you monitor? Do you see any crime? Save the company money? The Research position? Leader of a group of stuff? Meet deadlines? No need to include phone numbers and the supervisor. You need that stuff when filling out an application. And how are you proficient in English, Mathematics and Physics? Isn’t everyone who applies to a job somewhat proficient in English? Just sounds a bit odd to me.

Change your objective to something that will help benefit the company. The economy ***** right now, everyone wants a job. But you’re applying to be an asset to the company. Like “To begin a career path in software development, writing or mathematics by utilizing my professional knowledge in these areas.” If they like you, then they’ll give you an interview where they ask about job relocation and stuff.

Take off your Grade 3 – Grade 12 honors program. That was way too long ago, and probably no one will mention it.

Don’t use one basic resume for all your job applications. If you apply for a job that doesn’t need all these course work, and computer lingo, then take it off. Otherwise, they might think you’re over qualified. And change your objectives to the job application. If job says “English teacher”, then say “To start a career in teaching blah blah blah” and change your resume to reflect how you’ve helped people learn English or something.

  2. The fact that you graduated Indiana State buys you no purchase. Take it off the resume. It’s like graduating high school.
