Should we all throw down the gauntlet?
I am sending this email out too most my friends and family. I **** to say this but I have been very disappointed in everyone not doing what it takes to win this election (myself included). We have all been bitching and complaining for the last four years how horribly our country is being run. We now have a rapidly closing window to do something about. I personally like to think we are a group of people committed to creating a better world. Right in front of us is a crucial opportunity to make a difference and we are not doing enough. If you’re reading this and think this doesn’t apply to you then you are kidding yourself. Reading news and talking to each other doesn’t win elections. Canvassing, phone calls and donations win election.
It is time to step up and close the deal. So let me tell you why giving money (or giving again) to the Obama campaign is so important right now. If you don’t need convincing just click the link immediately and get it done.

I have been raising money for Barack Obama for two reasons. First, the money we donate allows the campaign to reach undecided voters in an efficient and targeted way. Supporting paid professionals who have the skills and training to excel at these tasks makes a big difference. For example in Virginia the Obama campaign has 44 field offices with 5 to 10 fulltime staff in each. This is making us competitive in a state that Democrats have not won in 30 years.
Second, most people find giving money is easier than giving time. Very few individuals are volunteering significant time to the campaign, not because they don’t care, but because they are too busy with work, friends and family. By donating as much as possible you can still make a real impact in reaching key voters. Your money can be used for advertisements that hit undecided voters who watch American Idol, HGTV and MTV and don’t watch the news or debates. Your money will also pay the field staff to have face to face conversations with swing voters, get voters to the polls and make sure Republicans don’t mess with the elections integrity.
So now is the time to ask yourself if you are really part of this campaign or just a well wisher. Whatever happens in the news and debates between now and November, this race is close enough that it will be determined on the ground in a select number of states. A point or two edge either way will decide the future for our country.
Based on the amounts raised in the next two weeks, the Obama campaign will set their finishing strategy. The more funds they have, the more aggressive they can be. Think about how much you spent last month alone at bars or going out to eat. Then think about how much it is worth to you to be sparred the aggravation of listening to McCain and Palin on television for the next four years. Please dig deep and cough up some cash.

On November 5th, win or lose we each should be able to tell ourselves we did what we had to do to defeat the Republicans and John McCain. Also, if you’re on the East Coast and want to hit Northern Virginia next weekend, my folks and I are hosting people at their house in Maryland. It is the last weekend before registration deadline. Come stay with us and knock on doors and we will feed you well.
Thanks for reading my rant. I just really want to win this thing.
Sincerely,
Kris Lotlikar
P.S. – Forward this to your friends that are supporters and spread the word.

Sorry i was to lazy to read all of that.
I prefer Obama to McCain, and I still have to concur with the first poster; I am only human and I do not have the time nor the patience to read all that.
You want money for Obama, you’ve got to keep the message simple, short, and sweet.
You don’t sound to smart.
I commend you on your conviction ,but what i don’t understand is what is a smart guy like you doing backing Obama doesn’t make sense! Don’t get me wrong im not a Republican either because neither party truly gives a **** about americans ,just look how we got to this bailout and all the problems our nation faces! We all need to boot out Rep.and Dem. out of washington role up our sleeves and truly fix washington it really would not be impossible ! Because none of the candidates are not the answer i will not vote!
Should we all throw down the gauntlet?
You ALREADY have for all of us!
You were doing GREAT until you used the Obama word. Then it turned to a grey haze like Socialist Chinese Industrial AIR pollution.
I can’t WAIT for ENFORCED socialized reform that takes away ALL that I work hard for, make me participate in mediocre socialized medicine and all the other harbingers of another Evil Empire — Soviet UNION II.
Where did I leave those darn WMD’s? I know someone told me they were here somewhere. Pity I spent $300 billion dollars looking for them.
I am glad you are one of those people willing to be active. I myself am active and help in the many ways you have suggested. It is a pity no one could give you an intelligent answer. It is also a shame that so many people are still voting Republican. Thought that party would be blacklisted after the 8 years we’ve had so far and the failures of so many Republican presidencies.
