When sending email with Yahoo I am unable to choose more than one contact by holding down the shift or control keys while clicking on the contacts. I am using a mac mini computer but that hasn’t changed anything else. What am I doing wrong.

Holding down the control key which you already tried is the correct answer.
If the problem persists you can try switching back to Yahoo Classic
