how much would you charge a company for using your photo,
in a email marketing campaign?
This is a medium size organization, non-profit and they
already said they couldn’t pay me, but I want to ask for very little. Because I need it.

0$. Its a non profit and they already told you they cant pay. If you keep asking for payment, they are going to move on to someone who is willing to do it for credit only. So, either take it or leave it.
I get you want to be paid, but most non-profits live off of donations.
If you want to be paid… and there is nothing wrong with that… but they have already told you they cannot pay you, then you should have never given your permission for them to use your photo in the first place.
Look at it another way. Payment can come in many forms besides just dollar bills. Having your photo used in the campaign… as long as you are given credit for the photo… can pay you much bigger dividends in future jobs that what little money you can force out of these people now.

non-profits normally don’t have a budget for this…non-profit is non-profit…they cannot pay someone if they are not making a profit! I’d take the photo credit and let them use the image for their non-profit, charitable usage!
Sounds like they can’t pay so asking for payment will get you nothing and they will go with someone else’s photo. I suggest that you just ask for a credit and use it as part of your portfolio in the future.
