Does Obama even need Republican senate votes to pass his spending bill?
How many Dem votes does he have in the Senate already? Is all of this campaigning to get Republican fingerprints on this bill? I mean texting and emailing us at home? What is up…and the TV ads…?

However; Senator Joe Lieberman may side with the Dems; leaving only one Republican Senator to bring about a Non-Fuller buster Vote. Perhaps with the recent aspect of the GOP major Governors Alaska, California and Florida siding with President Obama’s stimulus package; more Republicans will change their minds.

We (Democrats) do not need Republicans to pass this or any other bill. we can–if we wish–tell them to go play with themselves.
What obama and Democrats are trying to do is end the vicious partisanship the bush administration and neoconservatives created.
So far, the GOP seems more interested in throwing temper tantrums because they can no longer get their own way. That isn’t cute in a six year old, though it’s normal enough. It is certainly not amusing in supposed adults.
That kind of behavior is what got them kicked out of power. It didn’t work worth a damn when they were in te driver’s seat. If they keep it up, all they will accomplish is to guarantee the Democrats stay in power for a very long time.

Pass yes, stop a filibuster to prevent a vote, no. At least not yet. He will need to have one more democrat for that. His plan to nominate a republican for a cabinet post and replace him with a democrat is to get the magic number of 60. That would stop a filibuster. It takes 2/3 rds vote to stop, that is why he needs 60 democratic senators.
He wants to prevent a filibuster, which he does not now have the votes to do. He also doesn’t want the Democrats to get all the blame when this bill is seen for what it really is–a tax on future earnings of generations yet unborn. Rude, to say the least, I would say.
