Did you know Sarah Palin was a great fund raiser for the Obama Campaign?

In his new book The Audacity to Win, Obama for America campaign manager David Plouffe recalls that Sen. John McCain’s selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate was a fundraising boon — for the Obama campaign.

“We had taken in millions of dollars in the three hours since Palin had started speaking,” Plouffe recalls. “We hadn’t even asked for most of it; we had sent out just a single unplanned fund-raising email highlighting her attacks on community organizers, but it was just starting to hit people’s in-boxes as I checked the numbers. So the big response from the last three hours meant people were merely venting via contribution.

“Her speech might have ginned up their base, but apparently it had sent ours into orbit ,” Plouffe continues. “The image that came into my mind was of people sitting home with a computer on their laps, watching the Palin speech, and getting angrier and angrier, contributing again and then again. ‘I hope she keeps this up,’ I thought. ‘Sarah Palin has now become our best fund-raiser.’

  1. Sara scared the hell out of liberals from the get-go, and the beat goes on.

  2. I don’t know who Sarah Palin is

  3. I think that if all you liberals quit ***** the world would be a much better place. Oh my gosh. Sometimes I can’t even fathom where you people come up with this stuff. Maybe we should just deport all of you. hahaha

  4. That’s why all liberals root for her to run in 2012. Cons think we fear her. Too funny.

  5. Yes. I worked for the campaign for two years and at the point Palin came on board McCain’s side we literally had people who were donating a dollar everytime she said “hockey mom” and some who gave up their daily starbucks just to kick in an extra few bucks a day.

Many people wanted Obama to win but wouldn’t have really been offended had McCain won, until Palin. Then it became a “We can’t let this broad in the white house” free for all.

People keep saying Liberals are afraid of Palin and how great she is, and that’s a dangerous mistake for them to be making. We fear Palin for the disaster that she is, and that fear is FAR more powerful.

We proved we’ll put our money where our mouths are and our feet on the ground.

Put her out there in 2012 and see what happens.

  6. No, but learn something new each day.
